2025 Patriots to win the AFC East

The New England Patriots are in the midst of their biggest playoff drought in over 30 years. A fanbase spoiled by the Brady years have been given a taste of what it feels like to be a fan of any other mediocre team since the turn of the century. They have not yet learned one of the great advantages of having a bad record… the last place schedule.

The Pats finished 4th in the AFC East last season, and with that comes a schedule that includes other 4th place finishing teams from their respective divisions. More often than not teams capitalize off the pockets of their schedule where they play 2 or 3 subpar teams in a row. With that being said, nothing really separates the Patriots from any of those bad teams, ya know your Browns, your Panthers, your Titans. I just think that Vrabel is a great coach so I add 1.5 more wins just for that. I also think that Drake Maye is going to look better with an improved O-line and some weapons. People forget about Hunter Henry. They also have Diggs now and a couple young pieces who have the chance to come into their own this season. You want a free OROTY bet? TreVeyon Henderson. 

A lot more “I thinks” in that paragraph then I would’ve liked. My credibility is shot. Anyway. Actually one more “I think” and I’ve been thinking about this a lot as a look at their schedule. I’m not a Pats fan mind you…but I THINK they could compete for an AFC East title this season. Crazy right? I’m going to go game by game because that's the way I convinced myself it's a good bet at +475. One more thing, they are favored in 10 games this season. Ok now let's break it down.

Week 3 vs Steelers W

Week 4 vs Panthers W

Week 5 at Bills L

Week 6 at Saints W

Week 7 at Titans W

Week 8 vs Browns W

Week 9 vs Falcons W

Week 13 vs Giants W

Week 14 BYE

Week 15 vs Bills W (the game that decides the division) (flexed to primetime)

Week 16 at Ravens L

Week 18 vs Dolphins W

Record: 12-5

Optimistic? Yes. Unrealistic?...maybe. In my opinion the Bills will be right there with them at around 11-13 wins, I’m hoping it all comes down to that week 15 game. But stranger things have happened and it's fun to make bets that might make you look smart in January but definitely won’t. It should still make the first couple weeks fun. We’ll see what happens.
